Saturday the 27th of June we (Hostilidades) will finally play our last show.

The whole night will be a benefit for the squat, where everything is taking place:

We will also be selling cd’s with the 5 songs we recorder but never released. All the profit from the cd sale will go to another autonomous place in need “de vloek”, in Scheveningen, Holland. (You can check them out, here: http://devloek.nl/)

Our concert will be recorded. Those recordings will be sold, to try and help the campaign against the building of a Maxi-Prison, in Haren, Brussels.

The whole thing will start around 7pm, and the entrance fee will be 6 euros.

Ubuntu’s da bomb

Ik ben geen fan van Ubuntu. Ik bedoel: ik vind het super dat het werkt en dat ik mijn buchtlaptopje misschien nog een paar weken of maanden langer in leven kan houden, maar ik ga niet plots mijn Unholy Grave T-shirt inruilen voor een polo van Canonical. Ik weet dat er achter de open source façade kwistig informatie uitgewisseld wordt met Amazon en dat het fijne aan de online software repository ook een keerzijde heeft: Big Brother is watching you. Niet alleen onder Windows.

Maar goed. Ik kan dat wel plaatsen. Alles wat je doet op tinternet wordt wel ergens geregistreerd. Je houdt daar rekening mee, op den duur. (“ik surf naar porno-sites om de Big Data te vervuilen en de marketeers te misleiden” of “ik Google soms moeilijke woorden om betere advertenties te krijgen“)

Ik kan het dan ook wel plaatsen dat “fans” hun eigen hymne componeren. Meer zelfs: ik vind dat geweldig.

Ik ben niet per se fan van Ubuntu, maar wel van Terry!

Autophagia

Goregrind is niet mijn favoriete subgenre, maar soms kan ik wel eens zin hebben in een portie stevige pokkeherrie. Autophagia, het eenmansproject van Griekse muzikant Angelos Hatziandreou (uit Thassaloniki) kan ik bij momenten wel pruimen. Ok, de kans is groot dat ik daarna een paar snelheidsovertredingen bega en/of iemand met een wc-borstel op zijn bakkes sla, maar dat is enkel een probleem als je je achteraf niet op tijd uit de voeten maakt?

De meest recente cd die ik gekocht heb is er een van een Japanse band, opgenomen in 2008. En dan nog wel in Holland.

De plaat staat uiteraard integraal op Youtube en klinkt zoals Unholy Grave altijd klinkt: rauw, bruut, midtempo, lawaaierig. Ideaal!

Ik drink vanavond een paar Duvels ter nagedachtenis van Hironori Suzuki, de recentelijk overleden drummer van dit zootje ongeregeld. Cheers!
